Araeannah Webb is a grade 10 student at Chinook High School in Lethbridge, Alberta, Canada. She attended grade 10 classes in school and online during the COVID pandemic. Here are the experiences she shared with Palette under our Learning and Teaching During COVID series.

Some difficulties that Araeannah had trouble with:

“I struggled to find motivation in completing my studies. I handled them by setting a good schedule and maintaining my mental health by going outside at specific times in the day, or socializing with my small group of friends.”

However, there were also favourable outcomes due to the pandemic:

“I liked some aspects of working online, like the fact that I could set my own pace for projects and it helped me get into a good rhythm that I lost last year during spring..”

The technology Araeannah used during online school:

“Teams, PC”

There was a major change in her life outside of school as well:

“It helped me think about my life choices and reevaluate how I was doing things to adapt to the changes.”
