Ameerah Elbiali is a teacher at IPS in Alkhobar, KSA. Since the pandemic hit, she has been teaching students in grade 1, online. Her response to the Palette Magz’ Learning and Teaching during COVID survey illustrate how school life has evolved during this period.

The effect of the pandemic was hard on Ameerah Elbiali:

“Internet Issues ( took time to navigate and upgrade to help meet the needs of teachers and students). Lack of Manipulatives for hands on learning, especially for Math. The social connection between peers. The ability to check for authenticity of work. Small groups.”

Despite the negativity caused by COVID, there were still some positives:

“There was less distraction between peers.”

During Ameerah’s teaching, these are the technologies she used:

“Laptop, Google Classroom, Google Meets and Elmo.”
