The Lack of Motivation During Virtual Learning

Mr Anonymous (name kept private on his request) is a grade 12 student at Western Canada High School in Calgary, Canada. He attended grade 11 and 12 classes in school and online during the COVID pandemic. Here are the experiences he shared with Palette under our Learning and Teaching During COVID series.

Here are the complications he faced:

“I faced a lack of motivation in online learning, and I handled it by making a rigid daily schedule.”

Although there were many difficulties, he had more time to relax:

“I got to sleep more, and I felt more relaxed throughout the day.”

These are some education-related technologies he used:

“Laptop, earbuds, varying online platforms”
