Hafsa Choudhary is a grade 10 student at Strathcona Tweedsmuir School in Okotoks, Canada. She attended grade 9 and 10 classes in school and online during the COVID pandemic. Here are the experiences she shared with Palette under our Learning and Teaching During COVID series.

The hard times Hafsa faced during COVID-19:

“Concepts can be harder to grasp while learning remotely because an online lesson is less engaging. I combated this by advocating for my learning through asking for extra 1 on 1 help sessions conducted on zoom.”

Positives Hafsa found during this time:

“The extra time gained from my long commute didn’t benefit me because, that extra time was filled with more things to balance and complete. For example the workload increased, and I also needed to tend to my family.”

The technology she used for online learning:

“Laptop, Zoom, Google meets, Managebac”
