What is a minor chord?

As mentioned in the Palette article “Piano: Minor Scales and Keys”, minor sounds sadder than major keys. This is no different with chords. According to the School of Rock, minor chords have three notes, similar to major chords. These notes include a root (First), a third, and a fifth note. Minor chords are also popular in well-known music. For example, according to Hooktheory, “Sweet Dreams” by Eurythmics, which is in the key of C Minor, has C Minor and G Minor as two frequently used chords in the song.
